“This Entire Glorification Of Mine Draws one Near To Me.
“As by the offerings of finest cattle, flowers, gifts, incense, perfumes, and lights, made day and night for a year; and as by the feeding of Brāhmaṇas, by oblations, by consecrated water;”
“and as by diverse other propitiations and offerings; so also By Hearing the recital Of My Auspicious Deeds Am I Pleased.”

– Chapter 12, Verses 20, 21 and 22, The Devi Mahatmya

While Maa Durga Accepts all offerings, rituals, and rites no matter how big or small from devotees during worship, That Which Alone Is Most Pleasing To Maa Durga Is the devotees’ sincere recitation Of The Holy Devi Mahatmya. The Sacred Verses Of The Holy Text Themselves Have The Power To Draw the reciter Nearer Towards Maa Durga More Than anything else.
