Maa ShivaDuti

𝓜𝓪𝓪 𝓢𝓱𝓲𝓿𝓪𝓓𝓾𝓽𝓲

“Salutation Be To You, Maa Nārāyaṇī, Who In The Form Of Maa Śivadūtī, Of Frightful Visage And Piercing Shrieks, Slew the mighty demon army.”

-The Devi Mahatmya, 11.20

When the asuras shumbha and nishumbha mobilized for battle, Maa ShivaDuti Came Forth From The Divine Body Of The Divine Mother As Her Most Terrifying Manifestation Of All, And Sent The Great Lord Shiva As A Messenger To the asuras to warn them of the consequences of battle. Also Known As Maa Aparajita (The Unvanquished One),

Maa ShivaDuti Symbolizes The Unfathomable Power Of The Divine Mother. During the battle, Maa ShivaDuti’s Divinely Ferocious Appearance And Loud Laughter Terrified the enemy asuras, whom She Then Devoured.

The incident of Maa ShivaDuti Appointing Lord Shiva As A Messenger firmly establishes The Divine Mother As Equal Or Superior To, And As Independent Of, the male gods. No god, however powerful, is superior To The Divine Mother.
