Maa Dhakeshwari Is A Form Of The Divine Mother Maa Durga.


The name “Dhakeshwari” means “The Concealed Goddess”. She Presides Over Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh As its Divine Mother Goddess. Legend has it that Maa Durga Came To king Ballal Sen of the Bengal Sen Dynasty In a dream And Showed him where Her Statue would be found. The king complied and discovered The Divine Mother’s Statue buried deep in the jungle, concealed among Trees exactly as foreshown. The 800 years old Statue Of Maa Dhakeshwari Has Ten Arms And Is Mounted On Her Lion In The Form Of Maa MahishasuraMardini. Originally covered by the thick jungle canopy, The Maa Dhakeshwari National Temple is considered to be A Shakti Pitha, where the Jewel Of Maa Sati’s Crown is said to have fallen.
