The Divine Mother Maha Devi Maa Durga Mata Kalika Spears mahishasura, By Which the asura attains liberation. During "Maa Durga Puja" festivals, This Depiction Of The Mother Goddess is seen all over.
On one level, The Devī Mahatmya is an Allegory of the Spiritual Journey; on another, a Blueprint of the Soul.

The Devi Mahatmya, also known as the ‘Durga Saptashati’, ‘The Glory of the Goddess’, ‘In Praise Of The Goddess’, ‘Chandi Patha’, is a Divine Book of the Soul – helping to understand Consciousness of the Universe.

The Divine Mother Manifested The Universe And explains the Workings of Her Play (Leela) through Divine Allegory, and clearly Describes how Consciousness works and how to live life properly.

The Devi Mahatmya,  also known as ‘Durga Saptashati’ reveals an all-embracing vision of harmony between The Maha Devi’s Abiding Earthly Presence and the Transcendental Unity Proclaimed by seers  of sanatana traditions throughout the ages.

Thousands of years since composition, The Devi Mahatmya still shines as a beacon from a primordial age, when men and women, enchanted by nature’s beauty and abundance yet terrified by fierce and destructive power, honoured The Source of Creation as The Great Divine Mother.

The Divine Mother’s continues to flourish all over the world.

The Devi Mahatmya’s profound teachings are literal, symbolic, philosophical, scientific, and reveals secrets of the Universe which modern science is only coming to discover, often which is unavoidably more technical.

The Devi Mahatmya enshrines many an ancient memory in the resounding cadences of the verses and continues to sing the Divine Mother’s Glory.

As the last open expressions of Goddess-Centered religions were vanishing from the Western world, The Devi Mahatmya took shape on the more tolerant soils of Mother India, where the Traditions worshipping and honouring The Divine Mother continue to prosper.

The "Devi Mahatmya"
leads to enlightenment and self-realisation

The Devi Mahatmya depicts an allegorical journey of The Divine Mother, with a view to explaining the ‘Secrets’ of the Universe and setting examples to imitate for human beings.

Whenever the natural order of the universe is disrupted, The Divine Mother Of the universe, The Creator, Sustainer And Protector, Intervenes.

The Divine Mother As Maa Katyayani Is The Slayer Of the tyrannical demon mahishasura. Maa Katyayani Emerged From The Powerful Anger Of The Divine Mother Inherent In the male gods And Took The Divine Warrior Form With Incomparable Effulgence Shining Through the universe.

As The Slayer Of mahishasura, Maa Katyayani Is Revered As Maa mahishasuraMardini. Maa Katyayani's Beheading Of mahishasura With Her Sword Is a metaphor for viveka, which is the ability to discern between the apparent and The Real, the transient and The Eternal.

The Tejas That Emerges From the bodies of the gods, Taking The Magnificent Divine Form Of Maa Katyayani, Is Not the creation of gods But The Divine Mother’s Already Indwelling Presence In the gods. The Divine Mother Is Omnipresent, and even the gods are expressions and agents Of The Divine Mother’s Power.

According To The Origin Story Of Maa Parvati's Emergence As Maa ChandraGhanta, after years of intense penance, When Maa Parvati United With lord shiva, Symbolizing Divine Union, They Set Up New Abode In kailasha. However, soon the demon tarkasura, with the ill-intent of disrupting the peace that presided over kailasha, sent forth the bat-demon jatukasura to sow chaos. On Witnessing the wings of jatukasura’s bat-army cover the sky and attack the shivgana (the attendants of lord shiva), Maa Parvati Searched for nandi the bull for help. But nandi was nowhere to be found. Soon the defeated shivgana came To Maa Parvati pleading to be rescued. Maa Parvati Then Went to lord shiva but as he was deeply immersed in tapas he couldn’t help. With no external help available, Maa Parvati Resorted To Her Inner Power And Strength, Resolving To Confront the darkness that loomed. Adorning Her Divine Forehead With A
Half-Moon To Illuminate the battlefield, Maa Parvati Ventured Into battle. Maa Parvati Also Carried A Ghanta (Bell) The Reverberating Sound Of Which Resonated Across the battlefield, Dispersing all shadows. Soon Maa Parvati Overcame the bat-army And Triumphed Over the demons. As The Destroyer Of jatukasura, Adorned With The Half-Moon And Bell, Maa Parvati Is Revered As Maa ChandraGhanta, The Divine Embodiment Of Courage And Victory.

The Origin Story Symbolizes how the absence of help can be A Blessing Of The Divine Mother, Guiding the sincere devotees to awaken their inner courage and strength. In a seeker’s journey on the path to spiritual enlightenment, Maa ChandraGhanta Symbolizes foresight and strength of leadership. Maa ChandraGhanta Destroys the foes of Her devotees And Eliminates all the suffering from their lives, As She So Wills.
